Full title: Principal Entrance to St. Mark's. Immediately within the central doorway is the slab of Porphyry, put down to commemorate the submission of Barbarossa to Pope Alexander. Above the central arch are the celebrated horses of St. Mark. The mosaic in the arch tympanum is of the 17th century.
